The district of Paschim Medinipur, carved out of erstwhile Medinipur district in 2002 is a vast, geographically diverse, socio culturally rich district wherein we try to deliver services to citizens amidst flood and drought, forests and plains, areas of bountiful agricultural productivity and despicable barrenness, for our people living in far flung villages with identified backwardness as well as to the cosmopolitan town of Kharagpur.

For our inquisitive citizens, our website seeks to paint a comprehensive picture of both regulatory and development activities undertaken by all departments and sections in a holistic manner. We have made a modest effort to make our website as citizen friendly as possible by incorporating ‘Citizens Corner’ wherein status of applications filed by citizens related to police verifications, passports, excise, motor vehicles etc will be available. In addition, we have tried to make our website as exhaustive and interactive as possible.
