Objectives

Samagra Shiksha Mission (SSM) has an active initiation to universalize quality education for elementary to higher secondary students in a mission mode through district based, decentralized, context specific planning and implementation strategies. It is a significant attempt to bridge social and gender gaps, with the active participation of the community in all aspects of planning and delivery of education programme.

Interventions of Samagra Shiksha Mission

  • Civil Works Grant:

Being released for construction of Additional Class-room, New School Building, repairing grant, drinking water & toilet facilities for Primary, Upper Primary, Secondary & Higher secondary schools as infrastructural support.

  • Enrolment Drive

To minimize the never enrolled and dropout children in this district campaign is being conducted from July to September of each year with the help of elected members, District & Sub-District functionary and representatives.

  • Special Training

Special Training Centers are running to enrole the dropout and never enrolled children at the age appropriate class for the age group of 6-18 years.

  • Intervention for Disabled Children

Screening camp in each blocks is being organized to assess the disabilities in all respect of the children within the age of 18 years. Distribution of aids & appliances and transport & escort facility to identified special child in each year with the help of ALIMCO is being conducted.

  • Teachers’ Training

Subject module training, Life Style training etc. is being conducted within each financial year.

  • Para teachers:

Appointed both at primary and upper primary schools for strengthening the PTR and children who will be enrolled under the “Enrolment Drive” programme and backward students.

  • Free Text Books:

Distributed in every year to all students.

  • Uniform grant:

Distributed two sets of uniforms in every year to all students of elementary level.

  • Composite School grant:

Distributed in every year as recurring grant and maintenance of school.

  • Library Grant:

Distributed to every year to school for purchasing the library books.

  • Exposure Visit:

School students are going to exposure visit for joyful learning.

  • Twinning of Schools:

One School students are paired with another school students to exchange their thoughts.

  • Innovative Activity:

Adopted in every year for educational development of girls children and SC/ST & Minority children.

Yearly Activities of SSM

  • Observance of Book Day – 2nd January
  • Preparation of Annual Work Plan & Budget for SSM
  • Strengthening of School’s Infrastructure under SSM
  • Admission of Out of School Children to their nearest school.
  • Screening camp for Child with Special Needs.
  • Distribution of Aids and Appliances, Books grant, Uniform grant, Transport and escort allowance, Girls Stipend and Scholarship grant to Child with Special Needs.
  • Training of teacher for implementation of Special Training on Inclusive Education.
  • Support to adolescent Boys & Girls under SSM.
  • Updating of Child Register
  • Collection, data entry and finalisation of U-DISE Survey of all functional schools
  • Distributed two sets of uniforms to all students of elementary level
  • Selection of schools for Nirmal Vidyalaya Schools Puraskar & Swachhata Puraskar
  • Inter & Statutory Financial Audit upto School Level.
  • Observation of Kala Utsav and Science Exhibition
  • Remedial Coaching for academically poor performing students.
  • Visit of monitoring team of SSM to CLRC, CRC and Schools for inspection of different schemes of SSM.
